Clench (1964:368) designated MCZ 246343 as lectotype. There is one paralectotype. The remaining 398 specimens have no status as types (Harasewych et al., 2007:375).
Remarks
Hounsome and Askew (1980) reported C. nanus to occur in limited populations on Little Cayman, living only on the plant Evolvulus. It co-occurs with C. pannosum on the same plant in some areas. These authors conjecture that, over time, C. pannosum "might be expected to completely displace C. nanus from Little Cayman."
