Geographic Distribution: Exuma Group of Islands, Bahama Islands.

Type Locality: Fossil in red earth near west coast of Great Guana Key [Exumas, Bahamas], about 1 mile from southern end.

Type Material: Holotype, MCZ 187537

The holotype of S. peravita is also the lectotype of Strophiops perantiqua Maynard and Clapp in Maynard, 1920 (MCZ 187537) [see Taxon 137, above].
