Type Material: Lectotype, MCZ 76334 RemarksMaynard and Clapp (1915:191) recognized that S. obliterata Maynard, 1913 was a homonym of Strophia scripta obliterata Maynard, 1896, and proposed the replacement name Strophiops sula. MCZ 76334 contained a single specimen labeled as the "Holotype" of S. sula.
