Geographic Distribution: Abaco, Bahama Islands.

Type Locality: Abaco, Bahamas [26° 24' N, 77° 1.5' W]

Type Material: Lectotype, ANSP 25343

Baker (1963:206) designated the lectotype based an illustrated specimen (fig. 13) and labeled it as ANSP 25343a. Lectotype illustrated (as Cerion abacoensis bendalli) by Harasewych & Strauss, 2006:figs. 11-12.

Remarks

Clench (1938b:328-329) regarded C. bendalli to be a member of the "Group of C. martensi" and considered C. oweni incisum, C. oweni vermiculum and C. oweni reticulatum (all Dall, 1905) to be synonyms of C. bendalli, but provisionally distinguished C. oweni oweni Dall, 1905 as C. bendalli oweni as a smooth, colonial form.
