Geographic Distribution: Oriente Province, Cuba.

Type Locality: Cabo Cruz, Cuba [19° 51.3' N, 77° 43.8' W]

Clench (1957:132) stated that Maynard was in error in giving the type locality as Cabo Cruz, and that this species occurs only at Punta de Maisi, at the extreme eastern end of Cuba.

Type Material: Holotype, MCZ 18972

Remarks

Clench (1957:132) noted that both Cerion marmorata polita Maynard, 1896 and Cerion polita maisianum Pilsbry, 1902 "apply to the same species."
