Type Locality: Fazenda São José, Municipality of Itaborahy, State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,

In a pure, light-yellow limestone.

Remarks

Maury (1935:6) considered the horizon from which this species was collected  as "Probably Miocene, but possibly as young as Pliocene."

Salvador et al. (2011:445) report the Itaborai limestones to be of Paleocene age.
