Geographic Distribution: Exuma Group of Islands, Bahama Islands.

Type Locality: East and west sides of Wax Key, [Exuma Group, Bahamas]

Type Material: Lectotype, MCZ 76179

Harasewych et al. (2007:444-445) reviewed the nomenclatural history and type material of this species and designated MCZ 76179 as the lectotype. 

The remaining 3,415 specimens, including MCZ 76178, MCZ 118352, and USNM 420024, are paralectotypes.
