Geographic Distribution: New Providence and Adjacent Islands, Bahama Islands.

Type Locality: Sunnyside Estate, East Bay St. near the house, Nassau, New Providence Island, Bahamas

Type Material: Lectotype, USNM 420103

Remarks

Maynard (1924:4) noted that of the 1,219 specimens c ollected, only 33 were living. Gould and Woodruff (1986:478) reported that they did not examine specimens of this taxon, but regarded it to be a synonym of Cerion gubernatorium (Crosse, 1869).
