Type Locality: Anderson's Key, Berry Islands, Bahamas [25° 43' N, 77° 51' W]

Type Material: Lectotype, MCZ 76012

There are 1,130 paralectotypes, including  MCZ 76103 and USNM 419985 (75 specimens).
