Original Description

"146. S. rubiginosa.

Smaller, .85 by .28; aperture .25; costae 29. fully as wide as interspaces; rust-white marked with red-brown. Field east of Methodist Church on Sherley St., Nassau. Not very common, 385. Plate 43, figs. 1, 2." (Maynard and Clapp in Maynard, 1921b:147)
