Original Description

"Pupa Bryanti Pfr.

            T. breviter et profunde rimata, subperforata, oblonga, solida, castanea, plicis obtusis subdistantibus albis munita; spira sursum in conum obtusulum, apice pallide corneum at­tenuata; anfr. 9-10 vix convexiusculi, lente accrescentes, ultimus antice parum ascendens, basi juxta rimam subcompressus; apertura verticalis, subovalis, intus saturate castanea, plica parietali parva profunda, columellarique obsoleta mu­nita; perist. album, subincrassatum et breviter reflexum, mar­ginibus callo albido junctis, dextro arcuato, columellari su­perne dilatato. Long. 18½-21, diam. 7 mill. Ap. c. p.e­rist. 7⅓mill. longa, 6 lata.

            Habitat in parte meridionali insulae Inagua Bahamensium.

            Diese zierliche Art ist einerseits mit P. alvearia Dillw., welche in verschiedenen schonen Varietäten ebenfalls zu Great Inagua von Herrn W. W. Miller gesammelt wurde, an­dererseits mit P. microstoma Pfr., welche ich ausser von Cuba auch von Haiti und Portorico besitze, zunächst ver­wandt."  (Pfeiffer, 1867:130.)  Malakozoolgische Blätter 1867 V. This delicate species is on the one hand closest related to P.alvearia Dillw., whose pretty varieties were likewise collected at Great Inagua by Mr. W. W. Miler, on the other hand to P.microstoma Pfr., which I possess apart from Cuba also from Haiti and Puerto Rico.
