"S. avita new. Cylindroconic, 1.10 by .45, heavy, costate, with small, heavily-margined aperture, reddish stained. 50. Found under a bed of limestone a foot thick embedded in an ancient red soil. Undoubtedly the oldest fossil Strophia yet found on the Bahamas. Silver Key just west of Nassau Bar."
