Original Description

"S. antiqua new. Smaller, 1.25 by .50, much more acutely pointed, regularly costate throughout. 375. A very common fossil about eastern Nassau. Neither this nor the above appear to be ancestors of any living form thus far discovered." (Maynard, 1913:183-184).
