"106 a. S. LIVIDA.
Similar to S. santesoni, but darker and some specimens have a dark blue overwashing as in S. caerulescens. Occurred in an isolated colony in a grove of sea grapes on West Bay St. about opposite North Silver Key. The portion of the grove occupied by the shells was about 300 yards long by 100 wide. We collected 795, many of them young. 5 cts. " (Maynard, 1926:4)
