Original Description

"106 a. S. LIVIDA.

Similar to S. santesoni, but darker and some specimens have a dark blue overwashing as in S. caerulescens. Occurred in an isolated colony in a grove of sea grapes on West Bay St. about opposite North Silver Key. The por­tion of the grove occupied by the shells was about 300 yards long by 100 wide. We collected 795, many of them young. 5 cts. " (Maynard, 1926:4)
