Original Description

S. argentia new. Smaller, 1.20 by .45, costa finer and more regular. Color a peculi­dull, reddish gray, pale fleshy within. 400. Living on the three Silver Keys. Silver Key, the most western of the group, is remarka­ble as having been the home of three, quite closely allied and evidently successive species of Strophias, representatives of three dis­tinct geologic periods.
