"Larger. 1.30 by .50. with fewer costae, 27, and they are decidedly narrower than the interspaces; dark brown externally and internally , with bluish tinging. Common on key north of last mentioned [S. pulla] chiefly on palms. 2000 Plate 22 fig. 10, Plate 23, fig. 5" (Maynard and Clapp in Maynard, 1920:122).
