The type locality was originally published as "India". Pilsbry (1943:34-35) noted that this species actually comes from Puerto Rico.
Pilsbry (1943:34-35) noted that Pupa crassilabris Sowerby, 1875 is a junior honomym of Pupa crassilabris Parreyss in Pfeiffer, 1848, and a junior synonym of Pupa striatella Guerin-Meneville, 1829.
