Geographic Distribution: Conception Island, Bahama Islands.

Type Locality: Conception Island

Type Material: Holotype, MCZ 80502, paratypes, MCZ 80503

Clench (1933:97) initially considered C. fairchildi to be related to C. glans, but, based on a larger subsequent sample, transferred this species to the C. regina group (Clench, 1934:207).

He noted that shells are usually flat white, with occasional specimens exhibiting strong, color blotches of light chocolate-brown. No smooth specimens were collected.
